Purpose and Values
A man once asked Jesus what was the most important thing written in the Scriptures. Jesus said that the most important thing was to love God with all your your heart and mind and soul. He added that the second most important thing was to love your neighbor as yourself. Since Jesus placed the highest priority on loving God and loving other people, we have adopted that as the primary purpose of our church.
Bible-centered – The only hope for the world is the message of the gospel.
John 3:16-17 – "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him."
Intentional – Everything our church does must align with its mission.
Matthew 28:18-20 – Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Multiplying – We each want to pass on what we are learning to someone else.
2 Timothy 2:2 – The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
Relational – We enjoy God and enjoy the companionship of those around us.
Philippians 4:4-5 – Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men.
Authentic – Our church is a place where people can be real and feel accepted.
Romans 15:7 – Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
Relevant – We will represent Jesus within the context of our culture
1 Corinthians 9:19,22 – For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more... To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some.
Our Mission
To continually grow in love for God and others, joyfully serve them,
and intentionally lead others to do the same.
Our Core Values
As a reflection of our values, we will be:
